How to Install '69 Gas Pedal Spring
« on: July 22, 2012, 11:58:40 AM »
I recently bought a reproduction gas pedal spring and Ford Tooling gas pedal for my '69 Mach 1.  I'm more of a '65-66 guy, and I've installed several gas pedal springs on those earlier cars, but I can't seem to figure out how the spring installs on the '69.  Of course, the original was MIA, so I don't have anything to go by.  I was hoping it might be shown in one of the assembly or shop manuals, but I couldn't find any illustrations.  Could anyone get me straightened out on how this spring installs?

The 69 shop manual # 2 ENGINE pg. 10-09-06 has a picture/diagram.  Not a real good picture but does show the spring wrapping around the rod.  I can see that spring end when looking at my gas pedal.  Brian

Thanks, I'll take another look at the manual.

tricky bugger, hooked end holds on to the pedal rod, correct screw is really the key ingredient
