Here's a pretty good reference photo I got from another '70 owner. It's from an unrestored car. Everything's correct as far as I know. Have you looked in the Osborne Assembly manuals for a part number? The p/n's for this assembly are all on page 24 of the Body Assembly manual. The bar that runs across the battery is p/n D00B-10755. As you can see, it's different than the '69 part.

Thanks, I keep seeing this one, my 75 parts manual doesn't show it, maybe I am not looking in the right spot

You may be confusing the engineering part number that's shown in the Osborn manual with the service part number used in the MPC. The service part number for the 1970 Mustang battery clamp is D0OZ-10718-A.

If you have the MPC you can usually find the basic part number by looking at the illustrations. Use that number to find the table that lists the different service part numbers. Ford also published a cross-reference manual that lists engineering part numbers with the equivalent service part numbers (and vice-versa). They're great references, but they're extremely difficult to find.

The Osborn manuals can be bought from most of the large vendors.

Thanks, Scott (and sorry, Ray)  :-\ I had the engineering manual sitting next to me and without thinking just entered the p/n from there. Note to self: gotta be more careful late at night!

70 mustang & cougar battery hold down is DODB ENG # & 71 mustang & cougar is DOOB & they look the same except for sides offset plastic moulded for 71 battery mounted at an angle.
