Topic: repro 65/66 console vs original?

Hello,
I am planning to install a console in my 66 2+2.  I have the  possibility to buy an original but would hate to cut it as my car is equipped with AC.

Is it worth buying a repro console- are they "good enough" or is it obvious they are repro, i.e y the leather grain looks totally off?

Any opinions/advice would e appreciated.

The plastic repro console shells coming from Dennis Carpenter are very nice.  The individual chrome parts are ok, but not exact match to original.
