Topic: wiring harness from body to door

Does anyone have a pic to demonstrate what the wiring harness looked like going between the body and door (wiring for the interior door panel) for a '69 Mach 1 ?

Are you talking about the harness that passes through the doorjamb and into the door to provide power to the courtesy lights?  This harness would've also carried speaker wiring if the car had the stereo option with speakers in the doors.

Looked and I don't have a real clear picture of that area - its sort of hidden behind the weather strip when seen from the inside. Guess the best angle would be with the door closed and the fender off.

Anything in particular your looking for ?

The detail of the harness(material) covering to how it blends onto the grommet detail.

It's a black sleeve that is bonded into the big grommets on either end.
I don't know what it's made of, or how it's bonded - adhesive or heat?
The sleeve is not as flexible as rubber but it's more flexible than plastic, so maybe vinyl.
In any case, it's not flexible enough, and is almost always split exposing the wires inside.
With broken harnesses where a grommet has been separated, you can see the sleeve inside the grommet like a bushing.

Same wiring harnesses were also used on Mercury Cougars 1969 and 1970 (they are different between the years)

Driver side door with fender removed.
Wiring harness consists of door courtesy light, or door speaker, or door ajar, or a combination of these.
Right and left door specific.

thanks for pic. So it is not fabric tape, almost looks like heat shrink tubing that hasn't been heated.

The look is similar though the jacket is thicker and has a somewhat shiny exterior when compared.
