Translucent paint source for emblem restoration
« on: February 07, 2012, 04:11:36 PM »
Does anyone know a source for the translucent type of paint used on emblems?  I want to restore the door emblems and I want to use the correct paint.  I've seen the emblems where Testor's paint was used and they don't look right.

I just took some of my PPG Concept clear and took a small cap and dripped in a few drops of color.

It was translucent enough to make a pair of sunglasses.  LOL

Tamiya made a translucent paint for models and RC's that I've used in the past.  Its water based, but has held up fairly well.

For the red I've used, with success, the Testor's Candy Apple Red spray paint - sprayed into the lid then applied with brush. No help for the other possible colors
