66 Clutch Fork

Which is the correct clutch fork style for a late March 66 San Jose car (289)? In the pic below would it be the 65 style on top or the later more symmetrical service replacement/repop style shown on the bottom?

I've only observed the top style used in 65/66.

Thanks Charles. I still have the one that came on the car which is like the bottom style. I'm fairly certain it's the original, it was on the car when purchased in 1987 and showed a lot of wear then. I replaced it right away with an identical looking service replacement.

Does anyone with a later 66 4-speed car have on original clutch fork like the lower picture style?

The master parts catalog doesn't show a split in clutch levers until '68.

For what it's worth, I did dismantle a 12/65 Metuchen coupe with a 289 and manual trans and it had the early style lever on it.

Of course the Master parts catalog would only show one if the replacement would work in multiple applications - since it does not always show what came originally on the cars just what the dealer had in stock at the time that would work

Thanks guys. I do have a NOS later style which is identical to the one that came on the car, has part# C5OZ-7515-B. Did the early style pictured above have the same part number?
