65 Heater Core

When you guys rebuild your heater box what type of heater core do you guys use?  I've seen brass, aluminum and copper offered.  Not sure what is in the car right now but I need to change the heater hoses out and thought I would just rebuild everything since it is out....Also is there any rope caulk that goes in-between the two halves or no?  I've seen it offered in some cars not sure if it belongs on a 10/1964 SJ car or not...

The brass or copper cores should be fine.  No strip caulking on a standard box.

I agree with Charles, use the copper or brass. I tried an aluminum one and it wouldn't fit correctly.
