Help needed id'ing 2 parts
« on: November 20, 2012, 01:38:06 PM »
These were in the glove box of my 69 Grande when I bought it in 1985 and I have no idea what they are for. I had sold the car shortly after and it sat untouched for 20 yrs, when I bought it back all the parts were still where I left them in 1987.  The large one is rubbery and has a number of C9ZB 652407 A W and has Fomoco insignia next to it with a circled IMC and a half diamond next to the C.    The one side has rounded edges, a notch on each end and a round cutout on the right.  The back is flat.

The other item looks like it should be wrapped around a harness with tape to hold the harness in place.

Any ideas?

The first one is the insert for a door pull on the driver's side.
The second is a wire harness retainer that is part of the harness to snap into a hole in a panel. The harnesses that have a woven type cloth/thread covering vs a taped covering, use and lose them often.

The first item; C9ZB 6524047  AW  is the insert at the bottom of the Deluxe door panel cup.  Protects your finger nails and covers the screw head ?  This one is on my left door.  The one on my right door is marked C9ZB 6524046  AW with the same logos.  As to the second item; Don't know.    Brian

Agree that the second item looks like a wire loom attaching clip but have not see one shaped like that (or color) used on a 69 or 70. Normally off white with a clip made of just two ears and a flat somewhat curved (to fit around the wire loom)  that is attached and tapped into the wire loom.

There was a point a few years back when no one had any of the white reproductions - not sure if the shortage is still on going.

Guessing you have already checked with the large places like Virgina Mustang and NPD

Yea I have all the catalogs and don't find a listing for them. I think there would be a demand for these as they often get lost while restoring or replacing door panels and speakers. My original door panels had them. I still have the passenger side but the drivers side came up MIA when I replaced the door panels.  >:(

Guess they never came back once they made (reproduced) the last batch :(

Only hope now would be finding a pair used (yes I know you need only one but better find a pair ;)  or someone that purchased some for a project and never used them

Good luck with the hunt
