69 Tail Lite Buckets
« on: September 10, 2011, 09:26:12 PM »
I am doing my second 69, and it seems the tail lite buckets on my last car differ fdrom the previous. My previous car had white paint on the inside, these do not. Both cars are Dearborn cars.

I assume the white was to add a more refective quality.

Vendor difference maybe?

Thanks in advance.

I have never seen white paint used on the inside of a taillight on a 69 or any mustang. I have taken many 69 taillights apart and only seen aluminum spray paint but I am sure their could be exceptions, but definitely not typical.

For what it's worth, just took apart my 70 vert, Dearborn built in Oct. 69 and they are painted white inside.

6 sets of original light housings inspected, all '70s, all have the white paint.
