Topic: Horn Stamps

I thought I saw a photo of a set of Mustang car horns that had a painted date code on the bracket.  Does anyone know where I can get this stamp?  I have a December of 1964 San Jose car.

Of course you'll never see them once installed  (later ones were in the horn until they started making the stamp in the metal)

Don't know anyone that sells a stamp (would have to make a bunch of them to represent all the possible dates)

Most (if they even do this unseen detail) make their own stamp. Be aware its not your run of the mill font (year 2000+) and the letters and numbers do not line up

 I had them on my July 65 coupe. Like Jeff said they are stamped on the back. I made stamps and re-stamped mine but you have to look hard to see them (see photo) My car was  a July 9 scheduled build and one was stamped 5G1C (July 1 1965, 3rd shift) , and the other 5G2C (July 2 1965, 3rd shift).

I've never seen them stamped on the bracket, Always inside the horn on the lip of the large air inlet.  I just re-did my horns last month... Re-stamping it would be nice... My old stamps were so faded, I could barely make them out.. May 18th '66 Dearborn build Sprint 200.

Jeff is right though, The original fonts were obscure, definately not run of the mill fonts...Would still like to see someone take a stab at making the stamps though.  I've had numbers of great stamps made at Office Depot.  I'd have to work a long time in order to make these.  Usually, I have something printed to work with.. Not the case here..

That's how my MAR 66 Metuchen horns were stamped, up inside.  The font is helvetica light compressed to about 70%.  But the stamp they used didn't line the letters up so they are up and down.  Spacing is uniform though.

The Metuchen Stamping method is what I am used to seeing.  Do not know if this was mostly plant specific or supplier specific though.

Does anyone have any documentation of a 64.5 "falcon" style horn with a stamp on it? I have not taken mine off and can not easily get to the car ATM.
