Shock Tower Support Brace Bolts
« on: October 16, 2022, 04:21:26 PM »
What is the finish to be on the bolts that hold the export brace at the firewall? I have bolts from AMK, I think they should just be installed as is with no paint but not 100% sure. My body man wants to paint them body color, but I don?t think that is correct.

Installed way after the body was painted so could not have any body color on them but they were plated

A couple of pictures to illustrate and help others

Here are the four bolts and their location the thread is focusing on

Upper left shows that the body was painted before the bolts and braces were attached

Lower right a closer look at the bolt and washer (nor removable) arrangement and look

* Can we get someone to confirm the original finish of the bolt with washer and the retaining nut for 67 Dearborn to round out the thread?  Thanks
