Topic: Correct Alternator for 68 289

I looking for the correct alternator for my 68 coupe NJ built, 2/15/1968, 389 with C4.   The blow pictures are the alternator I took off back in the early 90s.  The stamping on it is 60A E276BA G26C.  Is that Correct?  If not What should I be looking for?

Is the word "motorcraft" embossed on the rear housing?

That is a later alternator. Motorcraft and stamped ID are dead giveaways. How is your car equipped? AC, extra cooling? All that determines what alt you should have.

Yes, That is the word Motorcraft.  Should it say Autolite?

It is 68 coupe NJ Built, 289, C4, AC, Am Radio, Deluxe interior, Fog Lights, Rear Trunk light (No under hood light but the original hood was missing)
Rear Window Defogger, 6K Tachometer and Clock, glove box light.

Yours is a later alternator that did not come on the car originally.

I also have a 68 NJ coupe built in May. The alternator I received from deadnutson.com did not have autolite on the back, although from what I understand, some did have the stamping.

I just went to the deadnutson.com site and it did answer alot of questions.  Thanks.  I will be contacting them for an alternator.
