Indy Pacesetter 1967
« on: June 22, 2011, 01:18:30 AM »
I am pretty new to the Mustang World in general.  Presently in the process of acquiring an Indy Pacesetter...1967.  I believe this was a Ford Motor production run for the Indiana dealers to promote the Indy 500.  My auto was produced on April 19, 1967 in Dearborn.  The DSO number is 34 (Indianapolis).
I have all the information off the door badge.  I am now trying to find out the specific size of the Ford Production Run for this small promotion.  My guesstimate is 200 or so units.
This campaign seems to have very little information.  Most believe the promotion was a dealer driven campaign with special decals and the like.
Any assist is greatly appreciated!

According to my Marti report, Ford made 324 Indy Pacesetters.  They came with 3M reflective tape stripes down the side - dark blue, white, dark blue, Wide Oval tires, pop-open gas cap and ribbed tail light panel with dark blue reflective tape between every rib.  They were all Wimbledon White with the two-tone blue interior.  The picture above is of my Pacesetter.  It has an incorrect painted on, two different shades of blue stripe.  This will be corrected soon.

sharpm1, I will PM you.
