1969 Mustang Fastback/Sportsroof - Metuchen

All Glass OUT.

Installing Sail Panel(s)

Aftermarket Sail Panel (Distinctive)

I understand the "Loose" piece of fabric (Headliner Material) is to be glued to the rear glass pinch rail.

May be stupid question but:

Which side of the pinch rail does the trim get glued to?

Reason for Question:
In 'dry fitting', it appears that if I try to glue the loose piece (of material) to the 'glass side' of the pinch rail, the sail panel is going to significantly interfere with the glass gasket.

Gluing to bottom side seems to allow for the gasket to be in correct place.

UPDATE:  I found this in an old post, which may be why I was thinking the wrap couldn't be on top.  I made erroneous decision that the part ordered was as described......

"tobkob:  The original ones I have seen wrapped around the rear glass opening and the gasket helped hold it in place along with adhesive. The repros I ordered from npd do not have enough material to do this. If your panels have enough material overhang then that is the correct way."

and
J_Speegle:
I've added material to the reproduction stuff to make the "bends" around the body. Never had long term success slapping them in with out the wrap. Have tried glue, Velcro and other things but time and heat always seems to under-mind my efforts trying those fixes

Lastly, I went back to my original order/invoice from same vendor listed in the above post. The part is listed as "Scott Drake" and "The finest panels available today."   In looking at what was delivered, they are in plastic wrapping with "Distinctive Industries" printed all over it.

Thanks for any help.
