1969 GT500 correct fuel line
« on: July 30, 2024, 10:37:25 PM »
I am looking for advice on the proper rear fuel line and where to purchase it for my 1969 GT500.  The one in the GT500 kit I purchased from Classic Tube is not correct.  I contacted them and they said the one i received is correct for a concours restoration of my car.
I am talking about the line that runs from the torque box to the fuel tank.

The pic in the below link shows both the new and the original side by side.
The shiny one with the sticker is the new, incorrect one.
The other is the original I removed.

Thanks for the help

I?m thinking your new one is for 69-70 car that has a rear sway bar.    The fuel line on my 70 Boss is bent similar to your new one.  It hugs the frame at the area around the sway bar mount.

First welcome to the site and hope you find the support and information you need for your restoration project.

As mentioned you have an incorrect fuel line as you suspected  and someone is selling it as a one size fits multiple applications. Have never had to buy fuel lines for the car so will leave reviews of other items and providers to them

You will find the search feature here works about as good as any forum search engine. It can turn up allot of information if your take your time. In this case I found one thread showing the fuel lines for 1969s from front to rear. Not sure if it is directly helpful since you know your new one is wrong but may help out others that find this thread later

While we're looking at your car and we're focusing on details wanted to mention that you should likely check to make sure your rearwheel wells have sound deadener applied at all or enough as it was applied before body color not after like you have likely have seen all over the internet and done incorrectly

Your new repo rear fuel line is for a 70 mustang . I have seen this many times and had to remove incorrect fuel lines on 69-70 cars. 70 cats had the  upper rear sway bar so fuel line is routed differently and also some vendor fuel lines are much better than other poor fitting lines.
