Early 66 C4ZE Radiator Wanted Manual Trans
« on: July 23, 2024, 01:44:58 PM »
Looking for a rebuildable original 66 Mustang radiator for manual transmission. I prefer the Modine radiator for San Jose built cars.

Looking for a rebuildable original 66 Mustang 3 row radiator.
Is it safe to assume it needs to be for a automatic?

Not the correct date code but, unless doing a thoroughbred, it is correct application and will be OK for Concours.

I would add that ID numbers are not relevant in all but thoroughbred however placement of ID can be relevant. Better that they disappear then be in the wrong spot and wrong type (stamped vs. raised). In this case if I was using a similar radiator I would bondo over and make Dearborn metal stamped ID disappear . Not necessary but I would solder on a AMK metal ID tag to better complete the illusion. That is if you want to totally eliminate the possibility of a minor deduction or at least a write up in a similar scenario.

Of course my statement was in regards to a Dearborn or Metuchen radiator being used in a San Jose car entered in concours . I assume a Shelby application in this case given the OP's avatar name and NO other information that would be relevant to the wanted part.

Hi Bob. Thanks for all the research and information. This is not for my '66 Shelby but for my look a like car. This car has AC and that is why I want a 3 row radiator. I am hoping to find one also with correct part numbers or I will use an AMK tag.
