Ground Cable
« on: June 29, 2024, 01:21:23 PM »
I recently decided to replace the original engine to firewall ground cable (C8WB-14303-A) on my 68.5 CJ. The new cable came from NPD (P/N 14303-2B) their supplier was Marti Auto Works. The new cable was the correct length, but the terminal ends were of the internal serrated type. My original ground cable was a non-serrated terminal end.

The terminal ends showed signs of having an external serrated washer in the past. Since the engine has been in and out 4 to 5 time in the last 50 years, I most likely did not replace the washers. I have attached pictures of the original cable.

I replaced the cable due to the rubber insulation has long departed the copper wire. The engine end on the new cable is the correct size, but the firewall end is larger than the original.
