Console bracket
« on: April 01, 2024, 10:36:48 AM »
Yesterday while installing the console bracket on the under dash of our 67 barn find convertible7T03T170334 built 12-22-66 I found that the bracket was too wide for the factory holes in the dash.  The bracket and console came from my parts car 7F01S140695 built 10-30-66. Center to center measurement on the holes of the convertible are 7 1/4. The holes on the bracket measures 7 3/4.  I really do not think this was a difference between Dearborn and Metuchen plants because all of the console withs are the same. Has anyone ever seen this before?

It is an AC console but that makes no difference in the top bracket.

Ruppstang,
This happened to me a few years ago when I was installing my console.  See link above.  I was able to flex the bracket and get it in place.
Thanks
