1970 button console
« on: March 09, 2024, 10:33:14 AM »
Documenting when the button console lid shows up on dearborn cars as have seen 1970 boss 429s with button console but not sure they ever came from dearborn plant on  a 70 boss 429. The last shippment to kk was for 9 cars delivered on dec 17-18 and  the MPC says 70 button lid consoles started in dec 69.  Some people are confused about being 2 70 consoles and install a button console not knowing that was a running change so anybody got a dec 69 dearborn car with born with console as all mach1s and boss 429s have consoles?

I have a December 2nd Dearborn Q code mach 1 with an ivy interior and a button console. But I have no idea if it is original. The car is unrestored and not in the best of shape.

Thanks and thats an odd color and it also may make a difference on the different colors as black is most common so they may have had more black consoles in inventory to use up first before the button changeover.
