Purpose of this thread is to document the approximate change over period during 1966 San Jose production.

The subject was originally explored in a 65 thread about the subject.

As usual will invite input with car VIN and style of wheel house while I survey the collection of pictures and such I have. Will as usual post in this post our findings and conclusion, if possible, as they are determined.

2/27/2023 Update - Looking at examples and data collected the change took place at San Jose somewhere around the end of March to the beginning of April 1966. Will be posting supporting graphics in the weeks to follow.

Jeff, our Oct 30 scheduled build date convertible does NOT have the depression for the spare tire inn the right inner wheelhouse.

My San Jose 66 GT K Fastback (Oct 18, 65 scheduled) has no depression.
My San Jose 65 GT Fastback (May 11, 65 scheduled) has no depression. 
My San Jose 66 Hardtop "A" code (Oct 15, 65 scheduled) has no depression.

Correction - got the serial number wrong.  It should read:

                     
                        6R07C178404  No depression

                        6R09A179925  Has Depression

To put dates on this, here are the door tag dates:

6R07C178404  no depression,        door tag date 28C

6R09A179925  has depression,       door tag date 01D

This should tighten things up a little.

Thanks. Looks like we have at least a three week range for the possible change over. As close as we can be with 65-66 discussions since we don't have real completion dates

6R07A176798 with a schedule build date of 21C has the depression.
