Do MCA judges look negatively towards painted grooves?

How about the power steering pump pulley.  Mine appears to have some black paint in the groove.

With a belt installed, it's not something that would stand out to most judges, but would not base restoration choices purely on whether or not something is a deduction in judging.  We know there usually wasn't paint in the grooves, so can't go wrong with restoring a pulley that way.

It looks like the aluminum PS bracket has black paint on it which it shouldn't. That would suggest that your PS pulley may have had a PO paint job before  too.
