I can't speak specifically about this one but I just bought one for my 79-93 Fox body which is a similar design.  I found the sheet metal grommet missing the crimped ring to hold it in place and the plastic spacer looked like a cheap used copy. There was also another rubber bushing on the cable but no idea of its function.  Looks like it should work as its only the base and cable.  Not much is visible when installed.

I don't know the details of all the years covered by this and if these discrepancies were to mimic those variations.  My old one from my 89  had an E5xx number and the design went away in 94.

That said, I would expect some variations from original.  Hopefully they cannot be noticed when installed on the car.

I purchased Scott Drake antenna NPD Part Number: 18813-3D.  I found it to have all the OEM features (grommet, sheet metal retainers, black teardrop base etc.) as shown in the assembly manual.  The only difference I found was the cover is stainless.  I polished it to look like chrome, so no problem.  Don't forget the extension cable if you don't have one.  Alan

edit: After months of use, it seems the antenna doesn't have the reception as my former NOS replacement antenna.  Also the mast can easily pulled off the post. But it looks factory correct.
