So your doing this on a 70?  Guess it will work but originally the recall and part were made to address the 1968 and 1969 Ford and Mercury models but guess it could be adapted to later seats and frames. At least from what I've collected over the years. Since this was a 1977 recall/campaign for a 9 year old car I don't think I've got TSB's from 1977 that would cover this application. Believe that is where your going to need to look to

Here is the other thread on the same topic but titled for 68 since that was the first year of the recall and fix. Found using the words "seat recall" in the search engine. May merge these two threads together

For others - what the kits looked like and the recall/campaign (as Ford like to refer to these things during the era) some information related to that

My Car is a 70. yes

This part was inherited when I purchased the car.
Look its not that bad - on a slight tilt. So do you think this can be done for a 70.

Just no video on how to? that I can find?

it shows how to  replaced the whole seat base however ...it does guide you what do look for..
I guess you have to grind out exisiting weld and place this bracket over and drill a hole to bolt it onto the frame

I  also  found this on the cougars pages however - seems to be missing part of step by step photos sadly  :(

The drawing looks like one typically with a TSB.

Yes you to clamp and drill a hole for the bracket and hopefully don't have any damage to the frame or cause more when removing the original pin. Would be great to find the text that goes with the drawing since that normally includes the steps needed for the process

I have most if not all the TSB's.  Do we know when we think that TSB was done?  1968?

Guess your referring to having the ones that cover the classic Mustang years not the 40's, 50's or from the 80s plus. Can't recall if all were labled as TSB but like the 60's there were also Service Bulletins and at least a couple of other forms of communications to the dealerships that were used also

1976-1977 given the part number

Think my latest are from 1973-1974 period

I looked thru my TSB's and all I have on my shelf is 1968 to 1971 right now.
There was possibly and article on this repair in Mustang Monthly around February of 2005 if someone has access to those issues to look at.

What is TSB?

Technical Service Bulletin(s)

These were regular communications between the production plants and the dealers/service managers related to issues, changes and problems experienced on different Ford models, engines or plants. Often they would include how to fix or address a problem. If a recall/campaign was issues those would also be covered in a separate dingle document. Sometimes the "fix"  posted in a TSB would include the hours Ford would reimburse the dealer for addressing the problem or fix

If you type in TSB in the search a number of them will turn up. Man/some with a scan of the original TSB

Here are a few examples of TSBs from other years
