1970 rimblow metal inlay band
« on: March 06, 2023, 12:44:23 AM »
Team,

Does anyone know where you can buy the correct looking and fitting metal band/inlay for a 1970 mustang rimblow steering wheel.  What is it called?  I think it's 1/8" wide but not sure on thickness and what it is composed of.  Some kind of stainless inlay or tape? Can you buy a roll of it from some where?

Thanks,

I have heard it referred to as Mylar tape but can't be certain that is correct.

Yes have used Mylar tape then applied a clear over it and the woodgrain. Been a while since I did one

Looking on the web it appears its still available in various widths and thicknesses

Bob and J,

Thanks for the assistance.   I can find 3mm or 1/8" mylar tape in chrome.  Is it chrome, silver or stainless steel I'm looking for or does it really matter.
