Also what year buildsheet are you asking about? See you have two cars listed in your signature. Its more difficult to decode the 65 and if its the 67 its easier especially if you have the Marti report on the car to go with it. Bigger sheet and more is "called out" since there is more room for more coding and identification

You will find a number of threads on the subject of decoding early buildsheets. Use the search and add your request to the thread that is related to your question. We'll try and help from there

Welcome to the site!

Sorry, it's the 67.  I assume that "1" like in the case of seatbelts is the basic model and black in color. but under the convertible top is "G" glass? the Tire is size "C" and type "1". and so on.

Thanks now we know what year and to what degree you want to dive into the subject. Only know a couple of people that have "decoders" of sorts from the factory. Not sure which years and models they have but they have not been made public and guessing that the hourly cost would not be small. Looks like a 3-6 months (or more depending on hour many hours weekly someone is willing to devote)  project to cross reference codes that are not simple or easy ones based on earlier efforts. Cross referencing buildsheets with Marti reports as well as other things. This sort of project is typically, in the past, started by an individual with the focus and passion to see it through. Others can and often are supportive once the dedication has been been put forth and demonstrated. It can be personally fulfilling.

Kevin Marti at one point was considering doing a decoding book, similar or along the same line as his other ones, for buildsheets but believe he didn't because there was little need for one since the Marti reports met the need for the vast majority of the owners confirming the original options of their cars.

As an over all project you should be aware that typically that multiple versions of buildsheets are often used during each production year making assembling data on a spread sheet a bit of a challenge

Do have a question. What are you expecting to discover or find out by decoding your buildsheet completely?

Thanks for posting a copy/picture of your buildsheet

The "G" in B36 indicates a glass rear window in the convertible top

In some cases there are codes in one section of the sheet that relate to information elsewhere. Guess Ford believed or found that it was easier for workers to find and remember a single letter or number rather than a series and the bin of area where the specific part was located at the station carried that single letter/number making the process quicker. Believe that is what we have with "B16" Tire-Size. That shows the worker the single code for the 6.95x14 tires listed by the tire size at the bottom of the page on line "H".

Other codes used in "B16" include D (735X14), E(185R14), F(F70X14) As a side note and not meaning to take the conversation off topic, on Cougars the coding is different and uses numbers instead on the copies I have.

The box "B17" Tire-Type was not always used for some reasons and on some sheets the provider or "Brand" is included on the sheets  but not all

Would take more time to decode and cross reference tire type but would offer that the following codes are what I found scanning though some 67 buildsheets

A, D, 1, 2,

Boxes B17 and H41 may be interconnected. So there is another area to look into. Need to get back to work on other projects. Will see where the discussion leads us

Seat belt color "1" should be black

While under convertible top "2" is also black

Special paint convertible oh my! Is that orange with a bench seat, exterior decor and a luggage rack?

Very cool build
