428 CJ Fan Shroud Restoration

I have an old 428 CJ Fan Shroud that came with my '69 Q-Code Convertible that is in need of restoration; it is discolored, stiff and dirty (pics below) .... any tips on how best to restore this shroud? Thanks in advance.

Your shroud seems to be mostly dirty from road dust and dirt you could try using walnut shell blast media on a small portion on the backside at low air pressure to try and clean the surface. A product like simple green and brush may work as well.

Might want to test an unseen area, once installed, before you blast. Think even walnut shells might be too aggressive but I haven't try them for this purpose. Just out of caution

Thing a good careful, these things can be delicate, scrubbing a number of times will do wonders to start with.

We vapor blasted then sprayed with a matte clear coat on our ?70 Bronco fan shroud and we?re pleased with the results. Dry ice blasting would likely work well also. You might want to check and see if someone in your area does either type of blasting and understands how rare and delicate that piece is. I certainly wouldn?t risk shipping it anywhere.
