1967 Dash speakers
« on: December 04, 2022, 02:22:18 PM »
Hi and thanks in advance. I have two 67 Mustang convertibles, one is very early September 66 and the other is late May 8 67. The question I have is the dash speakers got mixed up and not sure which one goes to what car. The numbers on the back are C7ZA-18808-C and near the bottom is 2197maybe 0 or 8 can't tell with old eyes that is the one with the large round magnet. The other one is C7ZA-18808-C also and at the bottom 21257 and 285716. The later car had an AM/FM installed in August 67 and not sure if they would have changed out the speaker as they did not put speakers in the doors. My second question is does anyone know of a place that rebuilds these in the Phoenix area or elsewhere or maybe there just not worth fixing. Thanks again

Speakers would be the same between AM and AM FM in 1967 Mustang. Most likely different mfg explains different magnet style. Check Hemmings for speaker reconing/rebuild. Factory speakers fit and look better but they are not really seen.  It is expensive to recone vs. non factory alternatives that will fit in the same spot and sound better. That is if price is a issue.

Thanks for the reply. I will check Hemmings. I thought it was just kind of strange as they are both San Jose cars just a long way apart for getting built. Thanks again
