67 mustang S code intake questions
« on: October 05, 2022, 07:12:03 PM »
What is the correct intake manifold part number for a 67 S code? Also, should have a small s or a big S? What is the difference between the big S intakes and the small s intakes?

We need more information to begin with

When  was the engine assembled? Or lacking that when was the car completed?

Suggest you add this and more to your signature so that we don't have to include it in the message everytime you ask a question

I'll have to get my signature changed.

Car was built December 17, 1966 per Marti.

Something also to consider is to determine if the intake is designed for the C5AE thermostat housing (large diameter thermostat) that are a dime a dozen or the C7AE-A thermostat housing (small thermostat) that are like hen teeth to find and substantially more expensive. The change over of thermostat housing was right in that approximate time frame .  ;)

Thanks don't know what the difference is other than the markings on these intakes. Really never studied them that close or had the reason to.

Since we don't have the assembly date for your engine or from most of the examples guess we're going to have to settle, at this time, for the cars build date.

Looking through my pictures of S codes from your car's production period the finds are not nice, cut and dry IMHO. Will try and organize them and my thoughts and post some information for you tomorrow for your to evaluate
