Topic: 65 Fold down seat trim piece

The fold down seat for the 65 fastback I am working on is in pretty good shape, except for the large Chrome piece where it latches at the trap door. I do not want to have to buy a full set of chrome if I can avoid it. Does anyone have this piece in decent condition for sale?  Also 68s don?t use this piece so if you bought a trim kit you would have this part left over.

Find a local chrome plating shop (post hurricane) and ask. Many years back, I had several of the rear seat metal pieces of my 66 Mustang Fastback replated. It was expensive but worth it. Figure an individual piece like yours to cost about $90 to $110, to be stripped and triple plated.
Note: Triple plating "should" fill in any minor pits from rust. Make sure the shop understands your requirement.

I'm 90% sure one of these came with my '69-'70 repro set, which wasn't needed.
If you can wait until this coming Tuesday, I'll be at my shop and can confirm that I have it.
If I do, indeed, have one, it's yours for the shipping cost.

Thanks Doug,  they only sell one kit covering all years and after 67 I that piece wasn?t used so you should have it left over.  Would greatly appreciate it if you could look when you get a chance

I have found a plating shop in Melbourne, I?ll be down there in a few weeks.  That?s my backup plan if I can?t find a replacement.  Plating costs have gone way up in recent years so it might not be cost effective.  We?ll have to see.
