Heater box to cowl bolt
« on: March 11, 2011, 08:14:57 PM »
What type of bolt holds the heater box to the cowl?  I seem to have lost mine somewhere and I wonder if it could be one of the ones in my miscellaneous bolt collection.
This would be for a 67. Don't know if other years are different.

For 1966, it is a number 14 screw.  Fastenal and similar stores carry them.  Of course, those are not concours correct.

It's like a longer version of the screws used to attach the splash shields.

+1 Its about 1 1/2" long, P&O hex head. Clip that it goes into is sometimes red

Interesting - never seen a red clip there on the western cars.

I've seen it on maybe 3-4 NJ 68s. Not sure why it would be red as Its not a safety thing but could be like the window molding clips.
