65 GT A Code Intake Manifold
« on: August 18, 2022, 11:09:12 PM »
I've ordered the AMK bolts and washers for my intake manifold.  What color was the intake manifold on my 65 GT A code ?( Dearborn)

Black, like the rest of the engine.  There was no intake specific or tied to the GT option.  The GT option required a 4V carb/intake, which A and K motors had.

Many of your questions can be answered from several books written about restoring 64 thru 73 Mustangs, aka Classic Mustangs. Take a look on Amazon in their books section under "Mustang Restoration". Some lite reading may give you answers to questions you haven't thought of.

Since your "new" you might not be aware of all the earlier threads and resources. There are pictures of original engines, out of the cars, from the 60's and an area of the site with a fair amount (always trying to add more) unrestored examples listed by plant, engine and production period. Those and other threads would likely help you answer some of your questions and let you notice even more details you may not have discovered earlier

Just looked and I count two 65 Dearborn A codes and six Dearborn V8's in the unrestored picture thread section of the site  ;)
