Turn signal switch wiring part numbers
« on: July 31, 2022, 05:21:48 PM »
I'm trying to figure out if my mustang has it's original turn signal switch wiring. I have a July SJ Mach One. When I took apart my Steering column I found turn signal switch wiring C9AA 13B302-F and appears it to be original. In another 69 mustang steering column (no other info on this column) I found C9ZA 13B302-G. Can a C9AA part number be original to my Mustang?

Remember and consider that the number your seeing on the wire loom is not the part number but the engineering number. Often two different numbers as this example shows. MPCS will somethings show both but for ordering a part for replacement they are going to use the number on the box or package - the part number

Thank you Mr Speegle. My question or concern comes from my original steering column and a spare I picked up years ago. I believe my steering column and components are original and thought nothing of the C9AA until I took apart my spare and found the C9ZA. I plan to have the column rebuilt and want to know which wiring to reassemble it with.

Looking at a Dec 1969 MPC they list the engineering numbers also and apparently there were a number of small changes to the loom  through the production years identified by

C9ZA-13A302- C D E H J  and L
Part number C9ZZ-13441-C for the fixed column applications

Can't example the C9AA printing. Might be a misprint

This may or may not help but this is what I found in the May 1975 MPC.
Fixed Column
ID Marking of C9AA-13B302-A,B,C,D,E & F
Part Number is C9AZ-13341-B
Tilt Column
ID Marking of C9ZA-13B302-B,F & K
Part Number is C8SZ-13341-B
Comments welcome

Maybe the corrected the mistake in the part ID on the period MPC in later versions

Thanks
