Topic: 69-70 Cougar hood

Found this in a barn - no joke.  Two questions:

1. The pad is mostly there but is really oily - is this worth trying to salvage and sell separately from the hood?  Refer to first picture.
2. In the second picture I highlighted the passenger side which is depressed compared to the driver's side.  Is this normal?  I see no evidence up top of any damage or repair.
