Thanks so much for the pictures, Jeff. That's a big help! Her 1965 Mustang has the following VIN (5F08C683768). Looks to be a Dearborn built convertible with the 200hp 289ci 2v V8. It also has the automatic transmission.
Two issues I'm trying to resolve are these on the hose routing ...
1) Does the metal portion of center connector/fitting on the P/S pressure hose get clamped in the P/S mounting bracket insulator (see highlighted area in picture). Or does the actual hose get clamped in the insulator? Not sure which is correct.
2) When we removed the P/S pressure hose, it had a long fitting/adapter (see pictures) that was inserted in the control valve inlet and the end of the pressure hose. It stuck out about 1" to 1-1/2" more. Looks like the threaded portion of the control valve where the pressure hose would normally go is actually larger (5/16") then the fitting on the pressure hose (1/4"?). The fitting on the new pressure hose (Scott Drake) will NOT work in the control valve because it's too small. So I had to get another adapter to go from the pressure hose (1/4") into the control valve (5/16") in order to shortened the length of the previous fitting/adapter. Hope that makes sense. Only thing I can figure is that the control valve may be a reman one and they made that inlet larger as a result (5/16")? The problem this causes is that with that adapter added to the control valve, it moves the bend in the pressure hose slightly more to the left so it doesn't quite fit uniformly around the end of the tie rod. Hope that doesn't cause a problem. Wonder if you've ever encountered that before.

Just want to make sure everything fits correctly when we're done and not cause any undo stress on the P/S lines when turning. Btw, one other thing we had to deal with is I bought brand new Scott Drake Concours hoses. When we installed those and test drove the car (over 60 miles), everything "seemed" to be ok. But then two days later, when backing out of the driveway, it looks like the hose literally popped off the center connector (at the insulator) and dumped P/S fluid all over the driveway! What a mess!!! Looks like it was a defective hose. Wasn't expecting that from the Scott Drake products (see pics).
