+1 . If the rest of the car is not up to the same level of "nuance details" then the surroundings will not match.

Paint marks will differ often depending on engine, transmission, PS yes or no, AC yes or no, assembly plant ................. Because of this it can be a very specific effort and some parks were only place on one or a handful of parts. Sometimes they indicate a problem flaw or problem.

There are at least normally a hundred or more and since there are so many variables I found it not very helpful to post allot on the internet since allot owners and shops will just copy someone else's marks and call it close or good enough. Had to deduct for hundreds of examples of the wrong markings or the correct ones applied incorrectly over the years. Always funny to see (for examples) Dearborn markings on a San Jose car or other combinations. Also consider that an incorrect mark will likely be borrowed and used on another dozen or more cars

Since your building a clone - so that you don't likely need to match everything you might just consider the basics - Guess you've already read the article on Basic Paint Marks in the Library.

Not suggesting that the following is true in your case but have had owners as for marks and when they send pictures of their car they have tubular powder coated A arms for example  :o Or similar choices like aftermarket AC compressor and other parts

OK here is the scoop on my Clone car, it was originally a 70mach 1, built in DEC 69 in dearborn, with a 351-4v and fmx with 325 gears. I have obtained a 351w with correct heads out of a 69 Shelby gt350,  correct  Shelby intake  and correct exhaust manifolds the fmx is out of a 70mach 1. the rear end will get a traction lock. I have the original hood and fenders, a NOS roll bar, a original wood shifter handle with cobra in it, the seatbelt and brake dash bezel lights. original centre caps for the legendary rims. it has new full rear 69 1/4s, floor pans and trunk panels. all the other parts i needed i have gotten from either the local mustang shop, branda, Kentucky mustang or Jesse from the Shelby shop and a few other awesome people scattered about with the odd part i needed. everything else will be replaced on the car, brakes, suspension, unisteer set-up, flipping everything, even the correct tach and 140 speedo! , all new wiring, the motor, trans and rear end have all been rebuilt as well. I thought this was going to be a pretty easy job, but it has morphed into something i would not wish on anyone. It is going in for paint in the next week or so, staying wimbledon white, but with black stripes down the side. and of course the gloss black stripes on the hood. It will look pretty  close to what a 70 shelby looked like back in the day. once done i will post some pics. that's why i was asking about the paint markings,

I think black side stripes will look better given that you are doing the 70 Shelby style hood stripes but just so that you know  the Wimbledon White Shelby's only came with blue side stripes from the factory.

There is a fair amount of markings already posted and shared on the site in prior threads focusing on 69 GT350 which most if not all will apply to what you want since your not really concerned, it seems, about a specific time period or car.
