65 Convertible GT stripe location pics
« on: February 03, 2022, 12:26:54 PM »
I would like to see how far the stripes wrap around the front of the rear 1/4 and the back of the door.
Would anyone have any pictures or measurements that I could use ?

I thought there was some info on that, but couldn't find any. The bad news is that many aftermarket stripes are too short. My originals wrap around body edges about 1/4 inch.

It's not a true GT but it is a K code with GT equipment  :)

Don't have any clear originals of those areas for a 65 Dearborn car. Believe the rear wheel well opening goes all the way to the inner lip edge like they did in 66 there. Same as the front wheel well lip

As for the wrap at the front edge of the quarter panel at the door opening have seen those trimmed just short of the edge of the panel but believe that would vary depending on the worker. Was not exact each time just away from the corner edge

Ok, in that case, I would say generally you're looking at about 1/4-1/2" of wraparound in the door jambs and full wrap to the edge on the fenders/quarters.

Greatly appreciated guys !
My biggest concern is the front of the rear quarter as that would be the most visable when opening and closing the doors...
