I see that on the unrestored six cylinder hardtop the latch is the typical spangled galvanized coating like a garbage can.
On my January 28 Dearborn hardtop (6F07C) the trunk latch appears to be smooth, almost like tin coated.
Is this typical or just worn out after 56 years?

They were originally galvanized with zinc (silver) rivets and gold latching parts.


Most likely yours was blasted/cleaned in the past.
