1970 351C Shaker Vacuum Valve
« on: January 18, 2022, 12:48:51 AM »
Hi everyone, I'm am in the middle of restoring my Shaker setup for my 351C. I replaced the various vacuum motors and have a question on the Valve at the bottom of the base. The part number is D0ZZ-9E607, although I think there is a letter following these numbers.

My question is, my valve has a small screw and clip on the top that keeps the ball valve on top of this valve pulled up to prevent air from exiting the valve. When I apply vacuum to the valve it does not close the damper on the snorkel, although the snorkel damper will close is I apply vacuum directly to the snorkel.

The valve that is currently installed seems to allow vacuum to release, is this proper?

And what can I use in replacement?

THX
Tim

PS, I've attempted to provide 2 pics but they don't seem to be downloading. Help maybe?

That's a thermally controlled valve so maybe it's not cold enough to allow vacuum to go to the snorkel. But it should not leak if closed. But it does need to release vacuum from the snorkel once the switch opens. You could try spraying it with freeze mist to see if it then applies vacuum to the snorkel.

Thanks Carl. I believe its damaged and will need to be replaced.

Do you know if these are available or if there is an alternative?

Ebay always has some in widely varying prices. D0ZZ-9E607-B is the service part.

I've seen them on there, however they are not the same. Does it still connect to the bracket supported by the screw or is that no longer needed? THX again Carl.

Also, I just want functionality. I'm not showing or care about the part at that level of detail.

If it just replacement and go, that would be great.

So I purchased :

TS13 Air Cleaner Temperature Temp. Sensor (Replaces OEM Ford # D0ZZ-9E607-A). I'm thinking that its a replacement for mine although it does not look exactly the same.

That should be fine. If there's any differences between any it is probably just the temperature at which it shuts off vacuum to the snorkel. This is what one of mine looks like.
