When did the fresh air vent change styles? Dearborn with late July delivery

1965 interior driver side air vents are noticeably different from 1966. 1965 has a plastic end, 1966 was all metal with the end capped in metal. Any idea when the changeover happened at Dearborn?

I've been led to believe it was during the 65/66 changeover.

My July 13 Dearborn Fastback has the plastic end on it if that helps?
