Know I posted similar pictures a long time back but don't believe it was to this site - so I wanted to get them in a thread here so all could keep an eye open for another IMHO running change I ran across while redoing a Jan 69 San Jose Mach a while back
The observation - The area where the quarter window would attach on the passenger side of the car had an odd looking clip that was screwed into the body to apparently hold the interior quarter panel trim in alignment. The bracket/slip looks like a bracket used to hang a picture in any of our homes (but without the small teeth along one edge) and out of place.
Jan 8th 69 San Jose sportroofChecking the drivers side (good place to start - I thought) and I found no bracket, holes for bracket, in fact the inner body panel was shaped differently, with no depression or area for the bracket.
Jan 8th 69 San Jose sportroofLooking at other cars I found that earlier cars apparently (my conclusion at this point) had the extra bracket on both sides which was eliminated in or about Jan 69. It seems that the car I was building was one that was caught being assembled during the change over and received the earlier version on the passenger side and the new and improved on the drivers side.
