Topic: 1966 Driveshaft U-Joints

I took out these U-Joints several years ago from my driveshaft.  I don't know if they are original or service parts.  I can't seem to find any aftermarket U-Joints that have the same circular center design.  I believe originals had zerk plugs.  If these are originals, is there a kit to rebuild them, like I need new rubber seals and roller pins.

I also have these 2 NOS service parts U-Joints.   Do they look to be assembly line correct or are they just service parts.  Both of them do have a zerk plugs.  Do you guys think I should use the NOS U-joints.  The inside cap rubber still feels pliable, but don't know how long until the rubber becomes dry. 

I was also thinking of purchasing MOOG U-Joints from NPD as they look similar to the U-Joints that I took out and also similar to the NOS service parts.

They look like typical service U joints to me. The assemblyline units don't typically have the large grease channel on one side.

Does anyone have pictures of how the original U-Joints from 1966.

Here are two examples taken at yards of originals installed in 66 San Jose examples. Have 67's also with the same sunken center with no grease fitting or provision

Does anyone manufacture reproductions that look like original.  I seen deadnutson manufactured U-Joints, but they are for the 1967 and up Mustang.  The 1967 have the outside clips.  I need inner clips for the 66.   Maybe if I purchase deadnutson U-Joint and switch the cups with my NOS cups, could it possibly work or will the cups have fitment issues on the yolk.

Don't know of anyone that has ever reproduced these. For a while there was an aftermarket supplier that made a center that would often pass judging though it was not exactly correct looking. And you had to swap the caps since the ones that came with it had non-Ford like markings. Have not see those available for a number of years

I was thinking of purchasing deadnutson reproduction zerkless U-Joints, and swapping my NOS caps on them.  Just don't know if the caps will fit.
