Looks like for some reason you have two neutral safety / backup lamp switch plugs. There should only be one. Very odd.

It is part of the automatic transmission switch. Sorry, I do not know its exact function.

Is it possible you have a switch for a later year transmission on your 1969?

Ahhh...the 72 on up transmission harnesses have two plugs: one for the NSS/BU wires and another for the seat belt warning system (usually 2 of 4 pins used).

Agree the transmission wire loom does not match the car's loom. Might want to check the transmission to see what it might have originally came out of and if that checks out then check the switch. You have a mismatch but you know that
