NJ rear valance screws
« on: February 20, 2011, 12:44:26 PM »
What is our current thinking on which/how many rear valance screws were in place during painting on 68 NJ cars? I have an opinion but I'll wait to hear other replies

Don't even need to look that one up - two screws painted body color - one each side, second one in from the ends normally

I concur with Jeff on the San Jose 67-68s. No experience with Dearborn built ones. My sampling for Metuchen-built 67-68s is realtively small. From recent restoration work, the 67 November, Metuchen built coupe had all painted screws (I still have those originals). Also, the 68 May, Metuchen coupe that I have now has all of the painted screws. I recall that the 68 GT-350 that I restored 10+ years ago also had painted screws...taking them off I was surprised to find the original highland green under the obnoxious orange exterior paint!
