Anyone have an original cable they could lay down next to a tape measure and shoot a pic? Have not called Marti yet, but sounds like I am not the first person who has run into this. My guess when I call Marti I will get some push back.

Thanks for all the great responses, glad I am not alone. All else fails I could hunt down an NOS, but probably hard to find.
A NOS negative cable is one of the rarest of the rare. I have networked with many parts sources over many decades and have yet to find a NOS 67-69 big block or small block negative  cable. Perkins is the only one I am aware of who has been successful. I think Special Ed may have been lucky too. The negative cable being longer heated up more under load compared to the positive which maybe why the insulation commonly cracked off which encouraged replacement. You have to be careful because older Marti cables are what comes up for sale ether by the unknowing or the unscrupulous. Marti cables have been around for closer to 3 decades now and older Marti versions that used the correct gauge wire have acquired a patina through age which helps sell the original angle.
