If I'm not mistaken, (some/all) 70 Mustangs use a special "Rosette" head rivit which can be hard to find / expensive .....

Retaining rivet design depends on plant and when the car as built based on original examples I've got pictures of. Of course everyone should take a look at theirs when access is available just to understand better their individual car - especially if it's original

 We got the cowl off, what a pain. Anyway, the rivets look like steel and I can see remnants of the rivet post inside the rivet when looking under neath.

If anyone knows the rivet size/specs, please pass this along. Thanks!
