Topic: Tecumseh AC compressor and clutch

Working on a 1968 Mustang AC system.  Installing a complete new system (mostly NOS parts) and some used parts like the lines and hoses.  System will be charged with R-12 since that works better than anything else made today.
This is a system with a York style compressor.  I cant find the torque spec for the AC pulley/clutch bolt (see photo). 

Also the amount of oil the system takes seems to be possibly 8 to 10 ounces but plenty of different things I am finding on that.  Want to prefill the compressor with the right amount and spread the rest in the system.
Looking for some input for anyone who has worked on an AC system.  Most likely this covers a number of years.

The shop manual provides volume based on depth (as measured using the process described) and also as 10 fluid ounces next to the word "Maximum".

Thanks John.  Everything I have come across shows the same drawings where you make a dipstick and measure the amount of oil in the compressor.  I have done that....but...depending how and where you insert a dipstick you get different readings because the case itself is not a perfect cylinder inside.  I have also read where the measurement is done with the compressor standing up at a 45 degree angle.  Not sure why.
And I think the reference to 10 ounces is for the entire system and not just for the compressor.  I believe that 10 ounces needs to be distributed thru the system.

I do see in the AC training handbook 20/30 ft pounds for the bolt holding the clutch on page 21.  I missed that before since I have that handbook here.

FYI your subject line says York but the compressor you picture is a Tecumseh. The York is aluminum and the Tecumseh is cast iron.

Damn it Bob.....you are right!  I have another car in the shop here with a York compressor and mixing them up now as I am finishing one and working on the other.  Will edit the title on this thread.  Picture says it all in my first post here.
