I am reassembling the dash on my BOSS and would like to restore or replace the chrome bits on the instrument panel around the gauges and around the clock on the passenger side of the dash.

I'm not having any luck contacting the company in TX recommended to rechrome them, so I am looking at alternatives.

Several vendors sell complete replacement dash panels including the woodgrain, etc., but I only need the chrome part as the rest is in good shape.

Is it possible to purchase only the chromed plastic portion of the dash or must I buy the whole thing? If so, where can they be purchased?

Thanks!

Doug

https://www.npdlink.com/product/bezel-instrument-cluster/178531/200171

Both have the passenger clock bezel available as well.

Thanks for the links.I searched both sites previously and couldn't find these. No idea why.

Another question. The passenger side is listed as fitting both '69 and '70. But the driver's side is only offered for a '69. Do the '69 and '70 versions really differ?

I can now answer my own question.

Driver's side '69 and '70 instrument panels do not interchange.

It is possible to get '69 and '70 repro dash bezels (both sides) manufactured by ACP.

The deluxe interior passenger side clock panel interchanges with the '70, and is sold either stripped of its wood trim or complete.

The '70 deluxe instrument panel is only sold as a complete unit including the wood trim. The '69 version is sold both ways, as a complete unit or without the wood trim.

No idea why they don't offer the '70 version stripped of its wood trim. They manufacture both and could sell them separately, but don't.

70's have a larger steering column due to the mandated locking mechanism. This means the curved area at the center bottom of the bezel has to be bigger to fit over the column.

From my experience it is almost always true that you'll be happier with a refurbished original when compared to a reproduction.

My experience is the same. Occasionally I am surprised, though. In this case I will take the chance as several respected individuals have vouched for the quality of the repro chrome bezels.

I ordered a pair (the instrument panel side includes the wood grain, which I will discard and use the original) and will report back here what I find.

I have both driver and passenger bezels from CJ Pony. Drivers came in a Dynacorn box, passenger came in a plain brown box. I have not installed them yet so I can't comment on the fit, but in the box they do look shiny!

Oh, looking at the drivers/instrument bezel, the box states 69/70, but it has the small radius for the 69 steering column.
