Though I would start a thread dedicated to 69 consoles and their parts and features rather than take another thread that is in response to questions or needs. In may of the older threads pictures are now gone as well as off site links

That strangely bent bracket is what I have on my console. I honestly thought someone made it, but now that I see another, I know better.

Regarding the front bracket I came across the one you (Jeff) pictured and one eerily similar but longer on both ends.  See the attached picture.  Any clues to that the other part is for?

Looks like a bracket for the same location but with more support/secure. We'll need to look at more to see if this is possibly a running change or a change that took place between 89 and 70 consoles.  Guess with the lack of swap meets or visiting a bunch of shops we'll have to keep an eye out on EBay for now or until others remove their consoles when they need to do some other work

There are two versions of this.  One uses the support bracket and, probably a later version, has a rib molded in that eliminates the need for the bracket.  Here are some pictures.

Thought I'd add photos of the original console and original attaching screws/items. Original cigar lighter still works. Original felt in center console.

1969 Mach, built Monday Feb. 24, 1969, Metuchen NJ.

Added Shelby style gauge pod several years ago since we drive it a lot. Ashtray is in storage and console wasn't malested.
