69 headlight bucket details
« on: August 27, 2020, 06:48:17 PM »
I've been harvesting some decent parts lately and ran across this one.  Four out of four headlight buckets have the same black sound deadener product on the lower back side.  All Dearborn cars.

Looks like the rotation number 114 is on the back side.  Good details showing gray primer and overspray.

This was from a mid-70's insurance salvage auction on a car that was rear-ended.

If you want any more pics let me know.

Yes, too bad that someone was gung-ho about the alarm system key placement :(

Guy assigned to apply sound deadener to the front wheel wells appears to have a thing about applying the product far forward. We see this time to time on other examples where the workers typically motions/pass with the wand travels down the front splash shied and keeps on flowing.

Have not see a rotation number on a 69 Dearborn headlight bucket before Thanks for the picture. Would guess that its the second one based on the assembly order but must have been applied after buildsheets were printed and number assigned

Yes seen way too many owners choose that exact same location for the alarm switch

Here's another one with less product.  No visible rotation number.  The paint on the back side had nearly 100% coverage.

Here is one with what could be a rotation number.

Was sorting some pictures to add a new thread in the 69 unrestored picture section and found the following picture so thought I would post it here also since it goes with the details brought up in the thread already

Late (9F222xxx) 69 Dearborn example of another headlight bucket with a second rotation n umber on it. Against the white it really stands out

And the same practice of catching the bottom edge of the bucket with sound deadener
