67 San Jose Battery Reinforcement - Running Change
« on: August 29, 2020, 10:53:40 PM »
Gday,
I have a 26 June 1967 s code Fastback built in SJ and need help with the battery reinforcement that is spot welded to the apron.
I purchased a replacement apron for a 67 and the reinforcement looks different/skinnier.
Question is, is this one of those running changes that were made between early and late 67?
Does this mean I need to get the 68 style apron?
Cheers

Haven't noticed the detail before but can see the difference between what you took off and the one on the donor panel as well as the reproduction.

Though it may be unconnected does your car have the hole for the extra upper battery support bracket?

In a quick look through my pictures I see other 67 examples with the wide underside brace like your original one as they are wide enough to been seen as the are almost wider than the bottom of the inner fender panel in that area once welded in place. Will look further and report back with  what I find. Plenty of 67 owners who hopefully will offer additional insight
